A arquiteta Donatella Fioretti, do escritório alemão Bruno Fioretti Marquez, apresentará, no Porto, a conferência “Hunting of the snark” (evocação do poema homólogo de Lewis Carroll, ilustrado por Henry Holiday, de 1876).

O escritório Bruno Fioretti Marquez foi fundado em Berlim, por Piero Bruno, Donatella Fioretti e José Gutierrez Marquez, em 1995.

A obra de Bruno Fioretti Marquez abrange programas diversos, do cultural e educacional ao administrativo e a projetos de habitação, incluindo construção nova e reabilitação. Muito do seu trabalho resulta de concursos ganhos com sucesso – a constante alteração de demandas de desenho, inerente à práxis dos concursos, implica a cada novo desafio um debate interno aprofundado e uma abordagem teórica fundamentada. O escritório tem trabalhado várias vezes em sítios Património Mundial da UNESCO e noutros lugares de forte significado histórico.

Piero Bruno, Donatella Fioretti e José Gutierrez Marquez ensinam Arquitetura na Universität Stuttgart, na Kunstakadamie Düsseldorf e na Bauhaus Universität em Weimar. A sua prática profissional e o ensino potenciam-se, ao permitir cruzar o pensamento fresco dos estudantes com a experiência do escritório.

Bruno Fioretti Marquez manifesta um forte interesse pela arte contemporânea, tendo trabalhado com artistas reconhecidos como Thomas Demand e Olaf Nicolai. Este interesse enriquece o a prática da arquitetura, trazendo perspeticas e perceções novas sobre as qualidades físicas dos edifícios.

A obra de Bruno Fioretti Marquez tem sido apresentada em diferentes exposições e publicada internacionalmente. O escritório é vencedor de diferentes prémios e nomeações, entre os quais o Deutsche Architektur Preis, o Detail Special Awar, o Hugo Häring Award, o DAM Award for Architecture in Germany, The Seutscher Brick Award e o Theodor Fischer Award.

The architect Donatella Fioretti, from Bruno Fioretti Marquez atelier, will present, in Porto, the conference “Hunting of the snark” (evocating “Hunting of the Snark”, a poem by Lewis Carroll, illustrated by Henry Holiday, in 1876).

Bruno Fioretti Marquez was founded in Berlin by Piero Bruno, Donatella Fioretti and José Gutierrez Marquez und have been in practice since 1995.
We carry out a wide range of work, that goes from cultural, educational to administration and housing projects including new-build and renovation.
Our work is mostly result of successful competitions; the constantly changing of design tasks inherent to the competition’s praxis demanded at each new challenge, a thorough internal debate and a founded theoretical approach.
We have a strong record of working in UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other historic locations.
Piero Bruno, Donatella Fioretti and José Gutierrez Marquez teach architecture, at Universität Stuttgart, Kunstakademie Düsseldorf und Bauhaus Universität in Weimar. Our practice and our teaching benefit each other, bringing together the fresh thinking of students with the experience of our office.
We have a strong interest in contemporary art, and have worked with leading artists such as Thomas Demand and Olaf Nicolai. This interest enriches our
architectural work, giving perspectives and insights into the physical qualities of buildings.
Our work has been presented in different exhibitions and has been internationally published.
